Book of the Month
Traveling at the Speed of Love
by Sonia Choquette
When we travel at the speed of love, we choose to live in a frequency of unconditional love. Today, most of us travel at the frequency of fear and live with a victim consciousness. When we’re traveling at the fear frequency, no matter how fast we go, we can never get to our destination. The victim consciousness is based on the premise: “I have no choice.” Traveling at the speed of love means taking our power back. We’re actually in a different universe when we travel at the speed of love. Our world is not a menacing, threatening race geared to cheat death. It becomes, at any moment, so satisfying that if this were our last moment on Earth, that would be okay. This is not to say that change is easy. To travel at the speed of love might require a complete paradigm shift in the way you look at your everyday existence. In this fascinating book, Sonia Choquette provides a practical, in-the-trenches guide that will reveal how you can reprogram your brain and change your life for the better.Ask yourself this question: What frequency are you traveling on right now?

Radiance
By Jaya Lakshmi
Refresh your spirit with soothing mantra music with original India- meets-Celtic sound. Blissful vocals, Spanish guitar, Celtic Flute and Cello create a nourishing vibe for yoga, relaxation or the healing arts. Radiance is produced once again by Steve Gordon (Yoga Planet, Buddha Lounge, Drum Prayer) and features top-notch global guest artists such as Deva Priyo (Lost at Last) on Spanish Guitar and Sarod, Vince McClellan on Bansuri, Native American and Celtic Flutes and Nishya Calkin-Godfrey on Cello. This deeply inspiring album is very acoustic, intimate and has beautiful simplicity that is really moving. Lakshmi sings with the deep inner peace that comes from many years of leading kirtans in yoga studios and concerts throughout the country. Tea of the Month
Angel's Dream Tea
| Country of Origin: |

| Cup Characteristics: |
A heavenly tea with maple sweetness, blackberry pungency, full flavored Assam and a mystery
green tea. |
| Ingredients: |

|
Has an angel come to you in a dream lately? If so, you may be dealing with some spiritual issues. Angels that turn up in dreams are believed by dream interpreters to be strong indicators of impending spiritual enlightenment and the need for spiritual nourishment. As spirits of the heavenly realms, angels represent the unconscious mind reaching out to the conscious self. Their wings are powerful symbols of transcendence over worldly troubles and the ability to accomplish great things. Interestingly, almost all cultures of the world have stories and myths of angels descending from the heavens in aid of humanity. Often these stories depict angels appearing during daily life, but more often than not the angels appear in dream form.
One of the more famous examples of an angel reaching out to encourage spiritual action involves St. Patrick, known best for the annual parade held in his honor. St. Patrick dreamt that an angel wanted him spread the good word throughout Ireland. He followed the angel’s advice and is now celebrated the world over for his worldly deeds. (Can it be mere coincidence that the people of Ireland drink more tea per capita than any other nation on earth? We think not!)
So what do you think Angels themselves dream about? Well, before the creation of this tea, it’s impossible to know. Nowadays we’re certain that they dream about descending to earth to share a pot of this heavenly brew. An ethereal blend of black and green teas touched with sweet maple and fruit flavor, this is the tea to reach for when your spirit needs uplifting! (We’ve even added clover petals in honor of St. Patrick’s angel.) Brew yourself a cup and dream the day away! |
Hot tea brewing method: Bring freshly drawn cold water to a rolling boil. Place 1 teaspoon of tea for each cup into the teapot. Pour the boiling water into the teapot. Cover and let steep for 3-7 minutes according to taste (the longer the steeping time the stronger the tea). Add milk and sugar to taste.
Iced tea-brewing method (to make 1 liter/quart): Place 6 teaspoons of tea into a teapot or heat resistant pitcher. Pour 1 1/4 cups of freshly boiled water over the tea. Steep for 5 minutes. Quarter fill a serving pitcher with cold water. Pour the tea into your serving pitcher straining the leaves. Add ice and top-up the pitcher with cold water. Garnish and sweeten to taste. Please note that this tea may tend to go cloudy or ‘milky’ when poured over ice; a perfectly normal characteristic of some high quality black teas and nothing to worry about!

Spotlight on Services:
Reiki
What it Reiki?
Reiki is a Japanese word, "Rei" meaning Universe, and "Ki" meaning Energy.
Reiki is an ancient form of hands-on energy healing that was rediscovered in the nineteenth century by Dr. Mikao Usui - Hence the name "Usui method of Natural Healing".
Everybody and everything exists of energy. This energy flows through us, surrounds us and nourishes us; it is the reason why we are able to live.
As we go through life, we may develop blocks that prevent us from the energy flowing through us in an optimum way. If this goes on for a long period of time, we may become emotionally drained or even physically ill. We may experience symptoms like fatigue and depression; our energy becomes imbalanced.
What does Reiki do?
- Promotes natural self-healing
- Balances the energies in the body
- Releases blocks and suppressed feelings
- Treats symptoms as well as causes of disease
- Strengthens immune system
- Balances organs and glands, and their bodily functions
- Clears toxins
- Relieves pain
- Enhances personal awareness and promotes spiritual
Each healing experience is unique to the individual. After an energy healing treatment, most people report a sense of calm and peace. Other responses include:
- Reduced physical pain
- Increased vitality
- Balancing of the emotions
- Increased mental clarity
- Greater inner awareness and connectedness growth

Meditation – The Key to Your Self
By Susan Verhoogt, Reiki Master & Intuitive Life Coach @ the Divine Mine
When hearing the word “meditation” we might think about things like peace, bliss, no thoughts, relaxation, well-being. Some people think that meditation is really hard, that we need to take time to do it – time that is already scarce in our busy lives. We might think that meditation takes a lot of effort; that with a lot of practice, one day, we might achieve this blissful, peaceful state that meditation is supposed to bring us. But we still have a long way to go! With a big sigh we might realize that we just don’t have time or energy for one more thing on our already overflowing to do list.
The interesting thing is that meditation is actually not another thing to do. It is simply an experience of our being, our connection to the source without any obstruction of the mind. We are this stillness, this peace, at the core of our being. The thing is, we keep ourselves so busy with doing things without being present, that we do not experience this feeling. This is because the being is clouded over by the mind. In Buddhism they have a beautiful symbolism: Our being is like the sky, and our mind is like the clouds. The sky is still, unmovable, while the clouds come and go, always moving. The sky does not pick and choose as to what clouds are allowed to pass through it. They are just wo different experiences; unmoving sky and moving clouds. That’s all. So simple. It doesn’t make the clouds bad; they simply do what they are designed to do. Same as with the mind. The mind is not a bad thing. It also simply does what it is designed to do – it moves. When we enter into the observation of this movement, we become like the sky. We enter into our being nature. Simply put, we can say that a meditative state is when one is in complete acceptance of the present moment without picking and choosing, completely at peace with whatever is happening.
Please don’t get me wrong – meditation does not mean vegetation! In other words, it does not mean that one stops taking action. On the contrary - the action will be more fruitful!
Meditation techniques can help us realize we are already where we are trying to get to; that we are already who we are trying to become. Meditation techniques are like a flash light that can help us find the way through the darkness back to our own light.
Can Everyone Learn Meditation?
You don’t have to learn meditation. You are already a meditator! Just remember any moment in your life when you have experienced extreme beauty. The sun rising suddenly from behind a mountain. Or the first time you hear an inexpressibly lovely piece of music. At such moments, suddenly, you become still, wordless, totally aware. Haven’t we all experienced such moments?
That moment is meditation.

Honoring the Feminine
By Steven Roland, Shift Supervisor @ the Divine Mine

In Tantra, the feminine form of the divine is called Shakti. Shakti, who is sometimes known as the ‘Goddess of Energy,’ is the very energy source that makes our whole universe come into being, she is the life giver. Shiva, the masculine form of the divine, is sometimes known as the ‘God of Form,’ what we experience as form is an extension of Shiva. According to Tantra our universe exists because of the dance between Shiva and Shakti, Shiva manifests as form but only because there is an energy source that facilitates it (Shakti). Our Universe’s existence is dependant on Shakti, and in an uncanny way, this is mirrored in human existence when a mother gives life to a child. Although Shiva should be honored in his own way because there would be no Universe without him as well, Tantra is a way of living devoted to honoring the Shakti that lies within all things.
In Western culture, it seems evident that we are progressively escaping a paradigm of egoistic masculine dominance. I still feel that many of the gifts the feminine provide are sometimes under appreciated. Women provide this innate wisdom, natural intuition, and energizing beauty/radiance that most (if not all) people find uplifting and inspiring. Think of how many people were touched by the love and beauty of Princess Diana, her energy inspired the whole world. In addition, women endure pregnancy, child birth, and menstrual cycles which are instrumental in sustaining our species existence. I feel so much compassion for women because of the inherent challenging hormonal and emotional fluctuations that come with these experiences. This is an immense service women provide the world and for this I extend my deepest heartfelt gratitude.
I don’t have children myself, but recently I observed a dear friend and a co worker undergo pregnancies. Seeing their experiences on a personal level has helped me develop a new found appreciation for what mothers endure. One night I watched my friend wake up every two hours to feed her hungry son and was awestruck upon observing the sacrifice that mothers make to feed their child. Regardless of fatigue a mother still lovingly responds to her child’s every need. Seeing this unconditional form of loving has been so inspiring to me.
I have always thoroughly enjoyed being of service to others, but upon observing the love and devotion that mothers are capable of it has inspired me to a whole new level. I am fully committed to serving the world in every way I can, especially when it comes to nurturing the feminine. I recognize that what women and the world really want from me is unwavering love, humor, confidence, awareness, presence, strength, and integrity and I insist on embodying this every day, in every way I can as my way of giving back.
Women, thank you for what you do. I have endless respect for you and will be eternally grateful for your service to the world.
Happy Mother's Day!
