How many times have you looked in your telephone directories this year? If you do not use them, refuse to accept one. Use the Internet to look up phone numbers instead. The Quest of Truth

In this month's newsletter I would like to reflect on the ultimate question of life; who am I and what on Earth am I doing here and why? I call it "The Quest of Truth".
Although words are a communication tool, they in themselves are very limited. Words can be used as pointers, as signposts to point you to a deeper place within yourself where the answers reside. To answer these questions, it is important to create a space within yourself where you can experience the answer from a level of stillness rather then trying to find the answers through the logical or thinking level.
The Quest of Truth for humanity, right now, is to move from the level of egoic consciousness to unity consciousness. This is something that cannot be achieved by trying; it just happens to you. When you are aware that it's happening you can then make a choice. How do you know that this is what you're going through? Just tune into your body and observe what you feel. As you go about your day, take some moments to tune in and observe how you feel. What you might feel is more tension in your mind and body then before, and the intensity of it might seem to increase. Time doesn't make sense anymore and everybody seems to feel rushed.
Right now we are going through times of great turmoil on a personal level, on a global level and even the Earth herself is going through huge changes. These are all reflections of this shift in consciousness and although it is inevitable, it is not something to fear. It is something that has been divinely orchestrated for many thousands of years in linear time.
Humanity is breaking through a very dense and magnetic experience of the human condition called the ego. We are starting to wake up out of the dream; we are starting to realize that we are not what we have, think, feel or do, but that we are the dreamer who, for a very long time, had been lost in this dream. We are now starting to wake up; it has been prophesized by many ancient cultures before the beginning of time.
What can you do for yourself in this process of waking up? Focus on your breath as often as you can. Feel yourself breathing in and out; become fully aware of the experience. Practice patience and loving kindness towards yourself and others. I recommend reading Eckhart Tolle's book "A New Earth" as well as any books by Pema Chodron and
"The Voice of Knowledge" by Don Miguel Ruiz. Please remember, as you read these wonderful books, to read between the lines and let the words guide you to that place of inner wisdom.
During the next Satsang meeting on June 6 this topic, Meditative Inquiry, will be explored. We will let answers to these questions rise from stillness, spaciousness from within.

Gemini
May 20 - June 19, 2008

The ingress of the Sun into the sign of Gemini signals the conclusion of the spring season.
Generally, when the Sun (the central life force of our solar system) enters into a sign it affects every one of us in a similar way; in Gemini we are meant to exercise our brains, sociability and communication skills.
The time of Gemini is a time to open ourselves up to one of the greatest skills necessary in any and all relationships, communication. Gemini teaches us that without this incredible gift that we call communication everything that exists would be in absolute formless chaos. From living beings to particles of matter and energy, the one thing that everything that exists in this universe of ours has in common is interaction with one another. And in fact that ultimately is what communication is all about, interaction. In order to interact with something or someone we must first try and understand them. So communication's other great task is to understand.
Gemini say's that in order to understand we must first interact, and in order to interact we must find the right way to communicate. There are a million and one ways of communication, from the conscious to the subconscious and not everyone is going to understand the same language. Some people communicate with their mouths, some with their eyes, others with their gestures, some with scent, and yet others with touch. All in all it's usually all of the above in varying degrees. Humans are complex creatures, but then again so is Gemini! Another thing that Gemini tries to teach us is that with any system of great complexity we must invariably learn the great lesson of flexibility. We must be flexible to the great differences of understanding that exists amongst us, for if we are rigid in how we communicate our thoughts and beliefs unto others that can lead to the great failure of building walls around us and "picking sides".
So to take a lesson from the sign of great flexibility that is Gemini, the next time you find yourself in a position of difficult communication be not closed to differences of opinion, rather embrace those differences in order to find common ground. That is the great secret and paradox of great diplomacy; it truly is an exercise worthy of effort!
Gemini will be in the 12 th house region this month indicating a time that is meant to focus on our spirituality and faith, take more time to reconnect to that great force we call God or the universe. But it is also a time to escape into our imaginations, take a "mind trip". Escape the "real world" by immersing yourself in a good book, go out to the movies, take in some live bands or simply escape in the world of music that inspires you in some way. People's dreams may be very active this month both figuratively and literally. You may notice that the dreamstate may be very vivid and active this month so pay attention! You may also find yourself searching your own dreams in life, lost in a world of wishing and hoping. This is a month to use your imagination to its fullest potential.
When we want to take a peak at what could be major issues in the outside world we must use what is called mundane Astrology and look at the houses in a chart for information. Mercury the ruler of Gemini will be in the 11th house region this month so expect issues to arise concerning groups, organizations, charities and humanitarian related efforts. Issues surrounding the legislature, aldermen or ambassadors to foreign nations. Issues around rebel, radical or extremist groups may also make the news.

A Moving Forward

The heart sheds a sea of tears, its latest skin ripped away... the unburdening complete for now... a lightness comes, opening to higher understanding, a shift... an ease of peace & greater compassion present... the cyclical process painful in its emergence, but relief at oneness again... back to centre, to self, essence discovered & reclaimed.
The pendulum swings, in equilibrium, its still point sure, steady, balanced... yet always in motion, regulating its way home. Its timing precise, correct, in sync.
The pulse quickens, erratic in its aching, searching for a exit point to let out, release the old, purge the intensity... tension accumulated, spiraling down, a whirling scream melts into a sigh as it pierces its way through...
Cleared, the breath comes... allowing the waves of joy, wonder & adventure to ignite an inner passion forward... the cycle of rebirth. The new... a tempting & delicious reward of refreshment, rest & victory. Old wounds healed... new markings of accelerated learning, wisdom & love emerge.
The self, now ready for its new state of Being... feelings present, clear, open... a way forward & Home... replenishing its vitality to co-exist as Love, in belonging, linked to All, a heralding of great Energy, a vibration of Ascension.
The circle completes itself... inward growth continually shifting forward... the journey of movement... fulfillment in the whole... a unity of harmony... a return to Source.

The Weather Oracle

These weather forecasts utilize a branch of astrology known as astrometeorology. It studies the phases of the Moon to give us insight as to what each Lunar Phase week holds in terms of the weather. An almanac called "The Weather Oracle" is now available for purchase at The Divine Mine; the Summer issue will go into greater detail as to what planets and signs will be affecting the weather locally, nationally and around the globe. So here is a taste of what the weather holds and what you will find in the almanacs (without the planet and sign information). Remember while this is a really fascinating system of weather forecasting nothing is 100%. If there's one thing that Mother Nature has taught us in our studies it's that she's full of surprises!
May 27 - June 2 (Last Quarter Moon period)
Cool temperatures hang around for the first half of this lunar week. Generally cloudy skies to a mix of sun and clouds, maybe some scattered showers. Temperatures want to warm up for the second half of this lunar period, sunny days with humidity that rises bubbling up the atmosphere creating the greater likelihood of rain or thunderstorms.
June 3 - 9 (New Moon period)
Temperatures should be mild to near normal. Atmospheric instability seems to be the norm this season and it promises to continue this week. We'll see unstable days again bringing a mix of sun & clouds with scattered showers or thundershowers. The second half of the week still sees below average temperatures but the air-mass does show more overall dry conditions and windy days.
June 10 - 17 (First Quarter Moon period)
Temperatures may fluctuate for the first half of this lunar period from cool to warm, many sunny days and pleasant weather overall, although it may be breezy to windy at times. The second half of this lunar period will see lots of sunshine and hot weather, enjoy!
June 18 - 25 (Full Moon period)
Hot weather and plenty of sunshine for the first half of this lunar week, although there is the chance that this hot weather may bubble up increasing atmospheric humidity raising the possibility of a heavy rainstorm. Temps cool down for the second half of the week, it will be windy at times and cloudier, drier weather however is more prominent.
